As an ARNP she can prescribe and treat patients independently of physicians. She’s been independently prescribing treatments for all kinds of medical conditions for over twenty years. So she approaches treatments here in the medspa with a GREAT DEAL of confidence, experience and knowledge.

How is an ARNP different from other nurses?

Several different nursing positions exist. Each comes with its own specific scope of practice and level of education.

  • LNP: One year of education to receive a degree.
  • RN: Two years of education to receive a degree.
  • ADN or BSN: Four years of education to receive a degree.
  • MA: One year of school to receive a vocational certificate.  (may not use the title of nurse by law)

All of the nurses described above MUST follow MD’s orders and work under their direct supervision. This also applies to PA-C (physician assistants) as well.

Earning an ARNP Master’s Degree requires six years of education and ARNP’s can prescribe and treat patients independently of physicians in Washington.
